A Health and Wellness Open Day program was held on 18 May 2026. The program that was carried out at the Sultan Abdul Samad Library targeted library staff as visitors. Starting at 9 am, visitors began to arrive to get health screenings. Among the departments involved were the public health department, the dental health department and the UPM counseling department.
The Dental Health Division has opened a booth for dental examinations and consultations as well as a dental exhibition. Every visitor who attends will undergo a dental examination and consultation regarding oral health conditions along with treatment recommendations for each visitor. Visitors are then invited to book an appointment via the QR code provided. In the afternoon, Dr. Syahirah gave a talk on periodontal health. This topic was chosen in conjunction with World Gum Day which was celebrated on May 12. This talk aims to raise awareness about periodontal health, especially gums, where the criteria for healthy and unhealthy gums, factors for gum disease and gum treatment were shared. A question and answer session was also opened to answer questions from visitors who attended.
24 library staff received dental examinations and consultations today. The Dental Health Division is honored to be among the departments involved in the HeWeOp program this time and hopes that the participation of staff can be increased to benefit from this tour series.
