UPM has been chosen to host the 44th SUKUM Championship for the year 2022. UPM University Health Center, together with the Majlis Kesihatan Universiti Awam Malaysia (MAKESUM), has been entrusted to the Medical & First Aid Committee to handle any cases or emergencies that occur throughout the tournament. 

As such, UPM University Health Center has taken some proactive measures by conducting a series of preparation courses and briefings for doctors, paramedics, and volunteers to strengthen their knowledge and skills to help any athletes who need treatment.

Among the courses that have been held are Introduction to Prehospital Care in Sports,
Preparation Course for SUKUM Medical Volunteers and AED Refresher Course. Each was conducted by Associate Prof. Dr. S.M. Wazien B. S. Saadun from IIUM Medical Center and MA Elya Saffuan from UPM University Health Center. The courses were conducted over 3 days starting from September 13th to September 16th, 2022.
