MERU, 2 August – The University Health Centre (PKU), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), organised the 2026 University Health Centre Staff Empowerment Workshop through National Spirit, in collaboration with the Meru National Training Centre (PLK). The three-day, two-night programme was held at the Meru National Training Centre, Selangor. Held from 31 July to 2 August 2026, the workshop aimed to foster patriotism, strengthen camaraderie, and enhance the physical and mental resilience of PKU UPM staff.

A Packed and Challenging Programme

The programme began on Friday, 31 July, with ice-breaking activities and a National Civic Awareness module to build early cohesion among participants. On the second day (1 August), participants took part in a range of physical activities and extreme challenges:

Practical Training and Resilience: Participants joined an abseiling session from the training tower, as well as emergency-response theory and practical training through the Wilderness First Response module conducted by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM).

Outdoor Challenges: The afternoon continued with a jungle trekking challenge in the surrounding forest area.

Creativity and Teamwork: Participants were also tested through the Master Chef module, where they worked together to prepare various dishes. The day concluded with the Bina Kata, Bina Insan module in the evening.

The final day (2 August) focused on physical and mental wellbeing through the “Fit by Beat” morning exercise, Team Binding activities, and workshop reflection and refinement sessions.

Closing Ceremony Strengthens Relationships

The workshop’s closing ceremony began with welcoming remarks by the Workshop Committee Chairperson, Dr Ahmad Kamarul Juperi, followed by closing remarks from Mr Muhammad Isyraf bin Mohd Razif, Assistant Director of PLK Meru. The programme concluded with the presentation of prizes and certificates of appreciation, followed by lunch before participants checked out. The workshop not only achieved its objectives but also left PKU UPM staff with meaningful memories and renewed spirit.
