UNIVERSITY HEALTH CENTRE, 24 APRIL 2026 - The Earth Hour program was successfully implemented with the full support of the University Health Centre (PKU) staff as an effort to raise awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. The program, which was implemented for 2 hours and 30 minutes every Friday, saw all unused lights and electrical appliances turned off as a symbolic support for efforts to address climate change.
This initiative is part of a global campaign organized by the World Fund for Nature which is held every year around the world. In addition to the light-off activity, other side programs are also organized such as an electricity saving campaign by setting the air conditioner temperature to 24’c as recommended by the Malaysian Government. This program not only aims to achieve the goals of the EKSA Committee, but it is also very focused on instilling an attitude of shared responsibility in maintaining the sustainability of the earth and saving electricity.
