Serdang, 18 April 2026 – The University Health Centre (PKU), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), successfully organised a Basic English Language Course from 8.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at the Seminar Room, University Health Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia.
The primary objective of the course was to enhance the competency of Healthcare Assistants in performing their duties within consultation rooms as well as treatment and emergency units involving UPM students and staff.
A total of 39 staff members from the University Health Centre participated in the programme. The participants represented several divisions and sections, including the Emergency and Treatment Division (Emergency Section), Emergency and Treatment Division (Physiotherapy Section), Clinical Laboratory Section, and the Dental Health Quality Section.
The course sessions were conducted by the academic officer, YBhg. Associate Professor Dr. Arbaayah Ali Termizi, Head of the Department of English, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, UPM. Throughout the course, participants were exposed to a wide range of knowledge and skills related to the English language, including effective communication techniques and more interactive learning approaches.
Overall, the organisation of the Basic English Language Course by the University Health Centre (PKU) was carried out smoothly and received an encouraging response from the participants.
