Serdang, 3 July – A Dental Health Promotion Program was successfully organized at the Foundation Centre of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), as part of the Health and Wellness Outreach Programme initiative. The event ran from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and was primarily targeted at staff members of the centre.

The Dental Health Division of the University Health Centre (PKU) UPM was invited to participate, involving the contribution of nine staff members. The program was officiated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marina Mohd Top @ Mohd Tah, Director of the Foundation Centre of Science, UPM.

Among the highlights of the program were health screenings, health education talks, and various booths including mQuit, physiotherapy, and a Mental Wellness exhibition.

The Dental Health Division team conducted comprehensive dental check-ups for the visitors. Each registered participant received an oral health consultation and was provided with the convenience of making follow-up appointments via QR code scanning. Identified treatments included scaling, dental fillings, and extractions of damaged teeth. A total of 27 individuals underwent dental screenings during the event.

The program was further enlivened by a dental health talk delivered by Dr. Syahirah, followed by a Q&A session. It continued with a Mental Wellness talk by the UPM Counselling Division and a physiotherapy demonstration by the Sports Medicine Unit, PKU UPM.

The organizers hope that the event will help raise awareness among the campus community about the importance of oral health care and overall wellness. The Dental Health Division also expressed its commitment to continue supporting similar programs in future outreach series.
