Serdang, 20 November 2024 The Dental Health Division, University Health Centre (PKU) UPM has organised a community service programme with children at the Centre of Excellence for Family, Adolescent and Child Research (FACE) UPM. The programme with the theme Healthy Smiles for the Little One was attended by 42 children aged 4, 5 and 6 years.

The program began with a brief talk session delivered by Dr. Syahirah, giving children an early exposure to the importance of dental care. The activity continued with a brushing session, where the children were divided into four groups. Four dental officers provide guidance on proper brushing methods, assisted by three dental surgical assistants and two health care assistants. Fluoride swabs are also given to children by the dental officer on duty.

The event ended with a photo session involving children, members of the Oral Health Division, and FACE staff. Certificates of appreciation and commemorative tokens were presented to FACE representatives by Dr. Munirah, accompanied by Dr. Khadijah as the chairperson of the Healthy Smile of the Little One.

The Oral Health Division would like to thank FACE for its cooperation and look forward to future collaboration opportunities.
