Obesity is a complex health issue, with serious social and psychological impacts, that affects virtually all age and socioeconomic groups in both developed and developing countries. It is a global concern and has been recognized as a major risk factor for other diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease. According to the Malaysia's NATIONAL HEALTH AND MORBIDITY SURVEY 2006, 2 out of every 5 adults (43%) are obese. Similar scenario was seen in UPM where the gross estimation from 6 PTJs revealed that 36% of staff are obese. The i-Decide 2 program was initiated to create awareness on obesity and to advocate healthy lifestyle among the UPM staff. This is done by fostering healthy lifestyle habits, diet modification and structured exercise programs.
