Serdang, 26 August – The University Health Centre (PKU) of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), with support from six other public university health centres — Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM), and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) — has joined forces to form a medical team for the PALAPES Cadet Training and Commissioning Programme, which commences today.

In addition to providing a standby medical team throughout the programme, PKU UPM has trained PALAPES cadets on proper stretcher handling and basic first-aid techniques to ensure smooth medical operations in the field. This training gives cadets early exposure to rescue procedures and their roles as front-line support in the event of an emergency.

Head of PKU UPM, Dr. Arma Noor, expressed her appreciation to Dr. Suhaila, who led the standby operations, as well as to all PKU staff members involved directly or indirectly. “We pray that all affairs run smoothly and successfully,” she said.

This collaboration reflects the continued commitment of PKU UPM and other public universities in strengthening medical preparedness to safeguard the safety and well-being of all participants throughout the PALAPES programme.
