The Dental Health Division, UPM University Health Center (UHC) received a visit from UITM Shah Alam University Health Center last June 21.The delegates were lead by their Head of Dental Services division, Dr Azarifa Binti Abdullah (UG54) and accompanied by Dr Nursyuhada Binti Aris, Dental Officer UG41 and Dental Nurse Ana Farhana Binti Md Aris (U32). Representative from UPM UHC which were Dr Ahmad Kamarul Juperi, Head of Dental Health Services Division, En. Mohamad Fiddezuan Bin Ahmad Murad, administritive officer, and Dental Nurse Nalitha Hazirah Norman greeted their presence with the warmest welcome.

According to Dr Azarifa, the purpose of their visit is as a benchmark visit to identify the latest treatment charges conducted at University Health Centers around the Klang
Valley. The input obtained can give an idea of ​​the treatment charges that should be given to patients who come to seek treatment at their respective PKU.

Dr Ahmad Kamarul during the visit had the chance to give and brief presentation regarding the procedure, treatment and charges in Dental division of PKU. According to him, the dental fees are divided into three categories which are student, staff and public. The price ranges from RM 3-6 (student’s fee), RM30-RM80 (staff’s fee) and RM80-RM250 (public fee).

Dr Azarifa explained that PKU UITM treat students and UITM staffs only and their charges range from RM50-RM80 respectively. She later clarified that the charges only applied to staffs whereas UITM students can undergo dental treatment for free.

At the second part of the visit, Dr Kamarul brought the PKU UITM delegates to each of the treatment rooms, sterilization service unit (SSU) and Xray room for a quick tour. At the end of the visit, the PKU UPM provided souvenirs to the Dr Azarifa and their team as a token.
of appreciation for their visit and hoped that the partnership provided would have a positive impact on improving the quality of services at both University Health Centers.
