TYPES OF EMERGENCY DENTAL TREATMENT

Dental emergency can be defined as a life-threatening condition and requires immediate treatment such as prolonged bleeding, facial cellulitis or swelling and injury to the facial bone that may affect the patient's respiratory tract.

Emergency treatment focuses on situations that require immediate attention to relieve extreme pain (pain score> 4) and reduce the risk of infection. This treatment should be done as minimal as possible

For Primary Dental Services:

 

  1. Toothache (pain score> 4)
  2. Tooth extraction due to irreversible pulpitis and acute periapical periodontitis.
  3. Fractured restoration /appliance/broken prosthesis that may cause injury to the oral tissue and pain.
  4. Injury to mouth tooth due to fall or any trauma
  5. Trigeminal neuralgia
  6. Facial Cellulitis and abscess
  7. Mouth lesion and tumour that is suspected to be malignant.
  8. Post extraction complication (bleeding, dry socket, infection)
