OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SERVICES
Occupational Health Services (OHS) of University Health Center, UPM is a campus-based medical clinic that offers preventive and treatment services for occupational-related injuries and diseases, and occupational medical surveillance programme. Our services are responsible in monitoring the health and safety of the staff and students of University Putra Malaysia (UPM), creating a safe and healthy work culture that contribute towards enhancing the quality of working life and productivity. This unit is run by certified officers, including Occupational Health Doctors and Occupational Health Nurses registered with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) and Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Malaysia.
Occupational Health Services include:
Medical Surveillance for whom exposed to hazardous chemicals (USECCH 2000, Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994), and radiation (Radiation Protection (Basic Safety Standard) Regulations 1988)at the workplace while serving as UPM staff.*
Pre-placement examinations. *
Occupational Health Screening Program (Ergonomic)
To carry out occupational health promotion, such as prevention and control programme at the workplace. This is to foster and increase the awareness of occupational safety and health in preventing occupational accidents, injuries and diseases.
To monitor occupational accidents, injuries and diseases occurring in UPM that has been treated at the University Health Center, UPM.
To provide training in basic first aid to the staff and students.
Consultation and education on occupational health concerns.
Health Screening Program for JPJ license application for UPM commercial vehicle drivers.
*Collaboration between the University Health Center (PKU) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration Office (PPKKP), UPM.
